Protocol Overview and Instructions:
"The Pitch" is a short presentation to an authentic audience. The Pitch usually contains a description of the problem you are solving, who you are solving it for, and what separates it from what may have been tried in the past. At futurePREP'd we love to "tell the story" of the process to solve the problem.

Educator Thoughts:
Truly having a department lead by a strong admin team makes the project and experience authentic.
What was Challenging? In the end it was a balancing act between program, staff and student schedules. Along with that we had to coordinate schedules and times with our client(s) outside our own walls.
Where did I find success? In the end the greatest feeling of success is when walking back from an installation and you hear students talking about how good it turned out and the excitement they carry about the work completed.
“The final installation looks great and adds the perfect touch the space.”
Student Quote:
“It was so cool to finally see our work up! I’m excited to learn more.”
sMeet the Educator:
Hello, my name is James Larsen and for the past 16 years I have taught Printing and Graphics at the Careerline Tech Center. Since 2013 I have been actively involved with futurePREP’d including… IChallengeU, Unite4Insight, FUZE, the Academy and Summer Career Camp. As someone who teaches in a creative field, I absolutely love design thinking. Over the years I have been able to have many of my students pair up and work with local business, companies, and organizations while experiencing the rewards of PBL and and the creative process. "I love being able to take a ‘Deep Dive’ into the ‘why’ of new projects using Design Thinking. Each stage offers new protocols and possibilities that make Design Thinking and PBL projects always exciting." |
