Protocol Overview and Instructions:
"The Pitch" is a short presentation to an authentic audience. The Pitch usually contains a description of the problem you are solving, who you are solving it for, and what separates it from what may have been tried in the past. At futurePREP'd we love to "tell the story" of the process to solve the problem.
The Pitch Protocol Instructions
During the FuturePrep’d Academy, students shared their solutions with several stakeholders from Trans-matic. Students were nervous about the status of the stakeholders present, but overall, they did an amazing job of organizing their thoughts and sharing their ideas with the group!
"I know we pushed the team hard in the last few days, but it paid off! They did an amazing job!"
"I was so nervous, but it was fun to hear what the Trans-matic employees had to say once they heard our ideas."
Meet the Educator:
I am Lisa Rilley and this is my 15th year teaching art, and my 5th year with Hamilton Community Schools. I have taught Y5 up to 12th grade in a sweeping variety of art courses! My first 7 years of teaching were in alternative ed, and I also worked for Holland Public School and The Art Institutes.
"My passion for PBL came from already teaching a project based course. PBL/Design Thinking gave me a foundation to use while helping my students unpack their creative destinations. The entire protocol guide gives structure to my tendency to be more abstract and random in my teaching style. This helps to honor my students who need and crave that structure."
