Protocol Overview and Instructions:
Speedboat is a short and sweet way to identify what your employees or clients don 't like about your product/service or what' s standing in the way of a desired goal. As individuals trying to build forward momentum on products or projects we sometimes have blind spots regarding what' s stopping us. This game lets you get insight from stakeholders about what they think may be an obstacle to progress.
Speedboat Protocol Instructions
Educator Thoughts:
We decided to try the Speedboat protocol and have it based at HFBL for what was holding our students back from completing courses at the designated time. Our question was, “What factors have slowed down course completion this year up to this point?” Overall I think the protocol was great for our students to step back and look at what has gone on in their lives “outside of their control” and the decisions that they made and how they affected their course completion. I think the biggest challenge that we had was students attention span and typically when we look at difficult matters tend to use unhealthy coping techniques. Overall the speedboat protocol was great and helped students name things that need to change this semester in order for them to complete more courses.
Student Quote:
“How do you think this activity went?” is a question I asked a student and she replied with, “It was tough, but this was an activity that definitely needed to happen.”
