Protocol Overview and Instructions: We tried Warm and Cool Feedback. It went great! Students made videos of protocol models they built (of the Sliding Filament Theory/muscle contraction). We watched the videos as a group and gave warm and cool feedback. The success was two-fold 1. leading them to improve their models and 2. catching misconceptions. It was challenging to elicit specifics. They are quick with simple generalities.
Educator Thoughts: This style of feedback communication is now second nature to us, and it’s so efficient!
Student Quote: I didn’t know that detail mattered. It helps when others point out what I didn’t see.
Meet the Educator:
Ashley Meyer Kapenga Hamilton I’m growing to love teaching S4S and implementing protocols. Students are hungry for this information. It increases engagement and equips them for life.
