Protocol Overview and Instructions:

We made use of an Empathy map as we thought about the feelings of the characters in a movie about genetic engineering (GATTACA). Students had to empathize with the “valids” and “in-valids.” It was challenging for 9th graders to tackle these deep concepts, but the success was that there was  clear format to elicit their thoughts.
