Protocol Overview and Instructions:

After the driving question was given and students had a change to brainstorm all of the ways we interact with the problem they came up with things that bother them about the question and things that they wished for (things that bothered them at the lakes, rivers and water parks and things that they wished for at them).

Educator Thoughts:

I noticed the students were able to learn about others likes and dislikes and areas that they could improve upon.

Student Quote:

“Wow, I didn’t realize these types of things bother people when at the beach/lake”

Meet the Educator:

K. Stranberg, 5th & 6th grade STEM

PBL gives students the opportunity to be an active participate of their learning. I believe students learn best by doing. I always think of the Chinese proverb of, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.
